About Me
My name is Daniel Palmer
In 2004 after a bad day at work I decided it was finally time to bite the bullet and join the British Army. Deciding to join the Royal Military Police I spent the next thirteen years serving in various roles including frontline policing, complex investigations such as frauds and sexual offences as well as a number of operational tours. For the most part of my service I specialised as an Intelligence analyst working in a number of different roles in support of numerous complex and highly sensitive investigations.
In 2016 I decided that it was time to leave the military to be closer to my family and seek new challenges. As part of the 12 month resettlement period I undertook a number of IT related training courses offered by the various providers using funding from the MOD with the intention of transitioning into a cyber security role upon completion of service.
In 2017 upon my discharge I took a position as a consultant with a large consultancy firm and during the next five years I worked in various roles including project and portfolio management across a number of large scale government digital transformation programs.
Although in these 5 years I learnt many valuable skills and was happy to be able to provide for my family I still wanted to do something more technical and really challenge myself. In 2020 when the world was in lock down and work was slow I was paid by my employer to up skill and took the opportunity to complete a number of additional IT certifications leveraging the free training that was offered by many companies at the time and training provided to me as a veteran by TechVets.
In early 2021 I transitioned into my first Intel role and have not looked back since.
